I came across this article from the March 1932 issue of Modern Mechanics and I wondered if the good padre had succeeded in his quest to create a new species:

I searched the internet and discovered there is indeed a species of chicken that looks like a cross between a chicken and a turkey, but is all chicken:

So… I guess that Father Ordonez was not successful – but then again, he didn’t need to be!
