If you’re asking yourself why these chickens are wearing sweaters (and mighty attractive ones, at that), rest assured it’s all in a good cause.
This fashion trend started in England where thousands of former inmates of battery farms (known as factory farms in the U.S.) have been given a new lease on life. Unfortunately, most of the lovely hens were nearly featherless (due to the conditions in their former habitations), so a movement was born to provide them with warm sweaters until their feathers grew out.
Voila! A fashion firestorm was started, and now chickens everywhere are sporting the latest in poulet haute couture.
